Tinea corporis is a fungal infection of the body, similar to other forms of tinea. It may occur on any superficial part of the skin.

Typical features of tinea corporis include:
- Itching occurs on the infected area.
- The edge of the rash is elevated and feels scaly.
- Sometimes the skin surrounding the rash may be dry and flaky.
- Almost invariably, hair loss occurs in the infected area when the scalp is involved.
